Documents pertaining to the Lee family of Tooele, Utah, 1874-1922.

The first item is entitled "Biography, Ann White Lee, pioneer, 1849" and was written by her daughter, Mrs. Lottie Lee Shields. The typescript manuscript (four pages) was prepared for the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers sometime after Ann White Lee's death on November 1, 1921. The second item is a handwritten autobiographical sketch by Samuel F. Lee of Tooele. The three-page manuscript describes early social life of Tooele and one encounter with Native Americans. The last two items are handwritten patriarchal blessings: one for Ann [White] Lee dated May 29, 1874 and another for Samuel F. Lee dated May 29, 1894.

Ann Dodd White was born on October 1, 1836, in Tealby, Lincolnshire, England. In 1849, her family left England for Utah via New Orleans, Louisiana, Cainsville, Missouri, and Council Bluffs, Iowa. On the wagon trip from Council Bluffs to Salt Lake City, Ann met Samuel F. Lee (born July 25, 1834) in Liberty, Missouri. They married on January 18, 1853 in Tooele, Utah.
